Carol Mae Beachy

Carol Griffin Beachy, age 78 of Sarasota, FL passed away January 4, 2019. She was born on July 3, 1940 in Walton, West Virginia to Carry and Ethel Griffin. She attended Lake High School and later enjoyed her role as a homemaker. Carol loved tending to her large flower gardens, playing cards with her friends and grandchildren, and collecting antique glassware. She was an avid walker, bird watcher, was outgoing, and never saw a stranger. She enjoyed caring for her "little ladies", and took pride in her work and being needed by others. She was extremely proud of her family, and was happy to share the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Carol was a devoted Christian and member of Abundant Life Church where she enjoyed being a part of weekly prayer meetings and small groups. Carol hated snakes, a messy house, and being late.

Carol was preceded by her husband, Joe Beachy, who passed in 2015. She has three children, Cheryl Beachy Troyer (Keith Troyer) of Sarasota, Rick Beachy (Connie Beachy) of Sarasota, and Dr. Theresa Beachy (Donald Beech) of Gainesville, FL. Her family includes grandchildren Philip Troyer, Rebecca Mayer (Ryan Mayer), Amanda Miller (Aaron Miller), Caleb Beachy, Hannah Beachy, Joshua Beachy, and Nate Harrison, and great grandchildren Felicity Miller, Jacob Mayer, Emerson Mayer, and Amelia Miller. She is survived by one brother, Joe Griffin, and one sister, Linda LaGamba of Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Carol will take place on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5 PM – 7 PM and Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1 PM - 2 PM at Abundant Life Church; 6461 Proctor Rd, Sarasota, FL 34241. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2pm at Abundant Life Church with burial to follow at Palms Memorial Park.
