Our memories with GGMama include many in depth discussions on the economy, politics, business, job updates, but best of all, watching her heart melt as her greatgrandsons ran around her apartment or the grounds of the Glenridge. Jack and Matt loved visiting their GGmama. (And the ice cream cones at the Kilty Cafe came in a very close second!) This February, the boys made more memories with her, swimming in her pool, eating breakfast with her, and giving her gentle hugs. I will miss our special visits with Audrey - she was a really incredible woman. (The photo below couldn't be rotated, but it is lovely regardless.)

I will always treasure my childhood neighbors and the feeling of community we shared. Jack, one of my first friends at age 2 or so and his family. Dean his older brother and his parents Audrey and Earl. The picnics, 4th of July fire works and a place to borrow an egg or cup of sugar.
My Mother and Audrey were close friends and was always there to help out or share a laugh and good time.
One time they left the stopper in the kitchen sink by accident while rinsing a paint brush and when they returned the water was flowing down into the basement. It was so overwhelming they sat on the floor, after turning the water off and laughed for several minutes before the cleanup.
Westport was a small town then and we were so fortunate to be in their neighborhood, all of the memories, priceless.

The mother of my best friend during my high school years, Audrey always made me feel as if I belonged to her family.  If you take the measure of my friend, the wonderful adult she sent into the world, you would have a good picture of the kind, upstanding person she was. 

I echo the sentiments of my sister, Ellen Reedy.  Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of having many conversations with Audrey about the world around us.  I always found Audrey to be a knowledgeable, compassionate and, yes, a wise person.  She maintained her keen interest in the world with a clarity that few people many years younger possessed.  We will all miss Audrey.

I have had dear Audrey in my life as long as I have been with Jack. There is a sadness and absence that will always remain. But, there are so many fond memories and we will have opportunities to celebrate her life in the coming months. The biggest takeaway on thinking about what mattered  to her was that family was the most important treasure. She leaves behind an even dozen of us -  sons, daughter in laws, grand kids & spouses & 2 sweet great grandsons. We will all miss her spoiling  us during the Glenridge years and when Earl was still her Prince Charming on this earth. Now they are together again! Her obituary may have the vital statistics, but for those who loved her most, there are so many priceless memories. 

My name is Ellen Reedy. I am the daughter of Sidney Wasch and  Maje Wasch.  Audrey was one of my mother's closest friends for many,  many years.  My parents moved to  The Glenridge around the same time as Audrey and Audrey was a wonderful support to my father when my mother was ill and then passed away in 2016. Since then I always made a point of calling, and visiting Audrey when I went to visit my dad. Audrey was the one who was so instrumental in welcoming my dad to the Highlands at The Glenridge and I had the privilege of giving Audrey a hug in early March, the last time we were allowed to visit.  Our thoughts are with your family.
