Mr. William Joseph "Bill" Rodgers - a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the William F. Green State Veterans Home. Mr. Rodgers was a graduate of Murphy High School and a U. S. Army veteran. He served as a Deacon at the First United Methodist Church in Prichard and as a City Councilman with the City of Prichard. He was employed with the L & N Railroad, Rodgers Building Supply and Woodmen of the World.
Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Renee Rodgers West.
He is survived by Elaine Rodgers; two sons, William Joseph "Joe" Rodgers and Andrew Paul Rodgers; one sister, Doris Doan; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
