Lawanda Rean Thomas was born September 19, 1963, to the late Hugh lee Jones, Sr. and Ester Mae Jones of Creola. She departed this life Tuesday, October 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Jones, Sr. and one sibling, Hugh Jones, Jr. She was a faithful member of New Life Baptist Church, Bay Minette, AL. Lawanda enjoyed all types of sports, fishing, cooking, talking on the phone, Facebook, Auburn Football, and Satsuma Gators. She loved her church family. She leaves to cherish her memories four loving sons, Irra Roberts (Regina Kirkwood), Devoted Clarence (Arkyla) Roberts, DeFonte Roberts, and Peyton Thomas; five grandchildren whom she adored, Arkeria, Rihanna, Clarence, Jaquez, and Defonta, Jr.; one god-daughter, Alexis Files; six sisters whom she loved, Betty (Issac) Lewis, Earnestine Crockett, devoted Huey Mae (Larry) Wimbley, Rose (John) Lewis, Diane (Curtis) White, and Kathy (Ben) Scott; a very special and devoted friend, Pete Creagh, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly. Special thanks to Lawanda's ex-husband, Clarence Roberts, and his entire loving family, and the entire class of 1981 McIntosh High School. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland.
