Juanita Deaton passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, in her home in Satsuma, Alabama, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 87 years. Juanita was a devout christian and lover of the Lord. She cherished her family and she made it a point to remind them on a daily basis of just how blessed they were to all have one another. She loved gospel music and never missed the opportunity to talk about the days of growing up in Thomasville, Alabama. Her bright smile and kind heart saw joy in everything and everyone. She was a member of First Baptist of Satsuma. Her way of saying “see you later” never ceased to be followed by “good Lord willing!”
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jimmie (Nita) Deaton and Carol (Malcolm) Lynch; four grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Deaton, Jeremy (Alene) Deaton, Mandy (Jason) Harris, and Melissa Breckenridge; and 7 great-grandchildren, Hunter Harris, Kate Deaton, Haylee Harris, Madelyn Deaton, Cassidy Deaton, Nathan Deaton, and Makenzie Breckenridge.
Previously departed loved ones include her parents, Lucius Cassity & Emma Knight Cassity; sisters, Anne Lister & Luther Ree Averitt; and husband and lifelong soulmate, Jimmy Ray “Boots” Deaton.
Funeral services will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeremy Reid officiating.
