James Franklin Young

James “Hymie” Young, formerly of Macomb Township, MI, age 72, passed away peacefully in his residence of Citronelle, AL on August 23rd, 2022 in the presence of his son, Gordon. James was born on March Air Force Base in Riverside, California on July 8, 1950 to Lucille Irene Young, and Gordon Lester Young.

James is survived by his son, Gordon; his two sisters: Alice (Brad) Kench, Patricia (Mike) Klingbeil; his brother, Robert (Linda) Young; and his grandchildren: Angella Smith, Andrew (Elissa) Taylor, Ashlee LePage, Nicole Young, and Amy Young.

James is predeceased by his parents: Lucille & Gordon; his eldest son, David James Young; older sister, Noreen Goddard; & his older brother Gordon A. Young.

James was an avid member of his community back home. His participation in community service excelled, he spent much of David & Gordon’s youth years coaching baseball, and he was a long-time member of exclusive clubs; Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and JCI Michigan (Jaycees). As James got older and his life settled, he found comfort in outdoor activities. You could often find him tending a bonfire, or relaxing on the porch listening to Classic Rock.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm at The Rusty Nail, 35703 Groesbeck Hwy., Clinton Township (TWP), MI 48035.
