Daniel Franklin "Dan" Simmons of Satsuma, Alabama passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the age of 87. He was born on October 12, 1935 in Deer Park, Alabama to the late Ida Perce Simmons and William Manuel Simmons, Jr. Mr. Simmons formerly worked in civil service at Brookley Air Force Base and retired from International Paper Company. He served in the Army National Guard.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his brother, William Rufus Simmons, and sisters, Nellie Nelson and Addie Mae Bruso. He is survived by his wife, Mamie Lee Fields Simmons; sons, Donald H. Simmons, Robert C. Simmons, and Gary M. Simmons; sisters-in-law, Nell Simmons and Carol Hamilton; nieces, nephews, and friends. He was loved by all and will be missed.

Graveside services will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
