"Eva." as she was known to most, married Leonel G Lorta on March 23,1957 in Jimenez, Coahuila, Mexico. They lived and raised their family in various parts of Texas and California before finally finding their forever home in Santa Clara, CA.
Eva was a very caring and religious woman. Her faith gave her the strength that she needed to care for the family. Her health suffered for many years but she would always put her health second to the love and incredible care for her children and grandchildren.
She had a great love for gardening evidenced by the beauty of an extensive group of flowering plants.
Her love of bingo took her to all the local bingo halls with her bag full of markers and good luck charms.
She would often go to the casinos on the charter bus where she would play the slot machines all night long like a pro.
Everyone was always greeted with love at her home. She loved her family and friends and they were always welcome. Birthdays always included your favorite dishes and Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas were times of faith and being grateful combined with sharing an abundance of food, drink, fellowship, and love.
Eva is preceded in death by her Father, Ambrocio Garcia Arreola and Mother Simona Garcia Escobedo of Jimenez, Coahuila, Mexico.
Also preceding her in death are her siblings and their spouses: Maria Jesusa (Eduardo) Flores, Santiago Garcia, Elvira (Olegario) DeHoyos, Libertad Garcia, Ambrocio (Paula) Garcia, and Raul (Elena) Garcia.
Surviving her are her husband of 65 years, Leonel Garza Lorta and children and their spouses/partners:
Leonel Lorta Jr. (Julian Bledsoe), Laura A. Lorta Bursese (Raymond Bursese), Hilda Lorta, and Nancy Lorta (Pedro Garduno).
Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren: David Alexander Lorta Martinez, Evangelina Nicole Bursese, and Lillian Nevaeh Lorta Garduno.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her beautiful, forever-caring Sister-In-Law, Maria Antonia Constancia Garcia. The highlight of the week for Eva and Antonia would be to spend every Saturday on the phone catching up on the weekly events. Whether there was something new or not, they could still spend hours on the phone with each other.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.limafamilysantaclara.com for the LORTA family.
