Manuela Gomes Delgado known to many as 'Mami' was born on June 15,1942 in Sao Martinho, Madeira, Portugal. She immigrated to Caracas, Venezuela where she met the love of her life, her eternal love Renato Mauricio Delgado. They were married in a small chapel on April 8, 1967. The would have been celebrating their 53rd, Wedding Anniversary this year. In July 1968, they both welcomed their son Reinaldo. In May 1971 they welcomed their daughter RoseMary.
Manuela received her Teaching Credentials in Venezuela. She worked for San Jose Unified School District as an Administrative Assistant for 20 years.
Manuela loved to dance, sing and play her cuatro (ukelele), despite her being tone death. She had great a sense of humor, an artistic eye to make beautiful flower arrangements, a green thumb for exotic and fragile plants and flowers and a natural love and skill for cooking and baking. She loved hosting dinners and socials. You can often find her outside smoking while watering her plants, and/or re-potting them as though they were her own children.
Manuela enjoyed several hobbies: gardening, cooking, singing, going to casinos, playing cards, hosting socials, and of course watching 'novelas.' She was also known for her vast collections of spoons from all over the world, orchids and the good old beanie babies. She was passionate about making sure the love of her life, Renato was taken care of. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. We will miss you Mami/Tata greatly.
With love,
RoseMary and Reinaldo (her kids), Shawn, Ethan, Sammy Jr. and Kayla (Grandchildren)
