Kathleen "Kit" Reynolds

Kit and Ron were married in June 1968 realizing many dreams and making millions of incredible memories in the 55 years that followed. Kit was a middle school teacher, but once her children Kim and Julie were born, dedicated the rest of her life to her family. There wasn’t a school play, sporting event, or field trip she missed. An incredible cook, she hosted many business dinners for Ron, while her family got to enjoy her home cooking every day.

Family was everything to Kit. She was actively involved in the lives of her two daughters, and five grandkids. There was not a holiday that went by where hugs, cards, small gifts, phone calls, and of course the ubiquitous holiday themed kitchen hand towel were not included. Family get-togethers were frequent and filled with Kit reveling in tales of her grandkid’s achievements and adventures, a genuine smile always on her face. An avid animal lover, she spoiled her dogs and grand-dogs through the years as much as she did her grandkids.

Kit also valued her close relationships with her nieces, nephew, childhood sisters The Fish, and so many dear friends. She was the type of person who immediately made friends anywhere she went and kept them because she was so giving and truly, honestly cared. She was a stickler for always looking her best, but not out of vanity. She wanted to show whomever she was seeing that she valued them and they were worth the extra effort of putting on lipstick, doing her hair, ironing her clothes, etc.

The beach house was a friends and family gathering spot. Kit always took care to leave little notes, candies, and other treats out for visitors, ensuring they felt welcome.

Kit was truly the strongest, most positive person you could know. Throughout her health struggles, she kept a positive attitude and always shined a light on those around her rather than herself. She taught all of us the value of kindness, love, friendship, and simply being there for the people you care about. In lieu of flowers or food, please consider dedicating a day towards being kind to others in her honor. And if family or friends ever accidentally butt-dial you, give them a call back just to chat. We were always glad we called her after she did it…which was a lot! Kit will be missed but never forgotten.

Kit is survived by her husband, Ron Reynolds, her daughters Kim Lawson (John) and Julie Reynolds (Marcus), grandkids Bailen, Mina, Zach, Luke, and Ellie, brothers Jim Thompson, Fred Thompson, and so many other extended family and friends.
