Anita Cornejo (Cardenas) passed away on Dec. 29, 2015. Anita was born June 2, 1924 in the mountain village of Mazamilta, Jalisco, Mexico to her parents Benjamin and Josefa Cardenas. Anita worked for Bellarmine Prep High School, and provided many years of day care from her home. She joined AA over 35 years ago and was active until recent years when her health began to fail. Anita loved her family. She married Ralph Cornejo July 24, 1945 and had five children. Anita’s other loves were her garden, and her home. She also enjoyed Giants baseball, the Niners, and was a die-hard Democrat through and through. She is survived by her five children: Norma McMath (Cliff) of Smartsville, CA; Ralph Cornejo (Bob) of Castro Valley, CA; Mark Cornejo of Fremont, CA; Maryann Gaynor (Mike) of Santa Clara, CA; and Henry Cornejo (April) of Windsor, CA. Her nine grandchildren: Stacey, Lisa, Michael, Kerry, Krista, Kimberly, Tasha, Mark, and Christina; as well as nine great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Justin, Ryan, Eva, Kendyl, Siena, Eleanor, Michael, and Evelyn. She is also survived by her brother Mariano Cardenas. Anita was preceded in death by her husband Ralph; her parents; her three sisters Aurora, Josefina, and Rebecca; and her two brothers Ruben, and Benjamin.
