Mary Mildred Jackson (nee Peppel) was born May 20, 1950 and died peacefully, at home surrounded by family on Monday, March 1, 2021 at age 70. Preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Mildred (nee Hoffmann) Peppel and parent-in-laws Carnell and N. Lorraine (nee Theno) Jackson. Survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Thomas Jackson. Mother of Jennifer Lynn (Jerry) Seeker and Susan Leslie (Matthew) Bromen. Grandmother of Jerry Jr., Julie, Jonathan, and Joel Seeker and Max Bromen. Sister of Thomas (SupIn) Peppel. Sister-in-law of Carolyn (Gary) Luther, Marilyn (the late Raymond) Nolan, Linda (the late William) Jackson, Wanda (George) McIntyre, and Dorothy (Brent) Magnusen. Also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members.
During her lifetime she was an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine, Camp Fire, PTA, and National Charity League. The friendships developed through her countless volunteer activities became part of her social network that continued throughout her life.
She loved watching Dodgers baseball, Packers and USC football; neighbors could hear her cheering clear down the street. She especially enjoyed attending all sporting events of her children, grandchildren, family and friends to cheer them on and show her love and support.
She touched many people’s lives in a quiet and unassuming way by lovingly welcoming them into her heart and home. She was a great listener and mentor for those who needed help and guidance.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Diana Nichols Coulson for her special care over the years. In addition, they would like to thank the staff and community of Mary’s employer, The Buckley School, in Sherman Oaks, CA who provided many levels of extraordinary love and support over the last 13 years. Tom, Jennifer, and Susan would like to express their sincere gratefulness to the entire Jackson family, especially Marilyn Nolan, for all their wonderful and attentive care and support after her accident in 2007.
A Memorial Mass will be held March 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Kilian Church, 26872 Estanciero Dr., Mission Viejo, CA 92691. Masks and social distancing required.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the pandemic, a private internment is restricted to immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kessler Foundation for traumatic brain injuries would be appreciated. Donations can be made at kesslerfoundation.org.
