Julie Anne Lee was born on Monday, June 17, 1991. Her big sister was only 14 months old when she was born and she was deemed “Sissy” from day one. She was a blue eyed blonde the day she was born, and only grew more beautiful every day, inside and out. She grew up in the same house and only lived outside of her childhood home for a few years. Julie started in a music program at the age of three, and played music through her senior year of high school, including four years in marching band. She was in Girl Scouts from the age of five until her senior year in high school. She earned the Silver Award by building a bookshelf for a local children’s rehabilitation center. She collected and filled the shelves with children’s books. She and her sister received the highest honor in Girl Scouts, by achieving their Gold Award. Together they created and provided a week-long music camp to show the love of music to a group of underprivileged children in their local community. She played soccer from the age of six, many of those years being coached by her dad. Julie usually played goalie because she was the tallest girl on her team. Her freshman year of high school, she suffered a knee injury that required surgery and ended her soccer career. After high school, she started working full-time for her mom in the escrow business, and worked in the real estate settlement industry for eleven years.
Julie made friends everywhere she went. She was loving, kind, compassionate and had a huge, huge heart. She was silly and goofy and had an amazing belly laugh! She was the defender of the underdog and protector of the vulnerable. She would not tolerate bullying and would get in the face of anyone she witnessed being a bully. She was a fighter for justice, and was absolutely fierce when she needed to be. If you were her friend, you were her friend forever.
Julie died on September 4, 2022, of cardiac arrest. She is survived by her parents, Mark & Roberta Lee, her sister, Renee (Ricky) Vigil, her son, Phoenix, her grandparents, Les & Margaret Lee, her aunt, Dawn-Ellen (Mitch) Cross, uncles, Jon (Diana) Lee, Hal (Jeri) Hanevik, Richard Hanevik, and many loving extended family members and friends.
