Doris Zelma Scott

Dory was 15 when she was asked to sing with the young man that would be her life long sweetheart. She married Duane Scott at the age of 17. They had perfect harmony in music and life for 60 years.

Throughout her adult life, Dory poured her heart into mentoring young married women and college students. She especially loved her sister-friends from Community Bible Study where we served faithfully for over 30 years. She lived her life according to God’s economy. Dory’s (aka Nana’s) pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made each one feel special and unconditionally loved.

On June 25, 2019 Dory transitioned to Heaven and was greeted by her Savior and her dear husband Duane who preceded her there in 2013.

Dory touched many lives in her 83 years on earth. We will treasure her love of Jesus, family and tradition and keep her sweet legacy alive for future generations. Dory is survived by Stephen Scott (Teresa), Douglas Scott (Debbie), Heather Hoerdemann (Joseph), 9 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren and many friends and extended family.

Dory wants you to know she’s better than she’s ever been. Still, we miss her.
