Carol Ann Wernle, 75, of Orange, a retired nurse, died on Saturday, September 15, 2018 of Alzheimer’s and complications from a fall. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she is survived by husband Charles; son Christopher, wife Tammy; daughter Caryn Brown, husband Paul, grandson Cooper and granddaughter Colleen. With her love of nursing and compassion for her patients, she worked for 40 years, following husband “Chuck” during his Air Force career from Albuquerque, to assignments in Ohio, back to New Mexico, and lastly California. After retiring, they returned to Albuquerque for over a decade, enjoying a new home and time to travel. Finally, she returned to Orange County to be closer to family, especially her two grandchildren. An open, memorial service is to be held at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Fairhaven Park & Mortuary, Santa Ana, CA. No flowers. Instead, donations in Carol’s name for research to cure and prevent Alzheimer’s disease are encouraged.
