Dr. William Chalmers Rape

Dr. William “Bill” Chalmers Rape, 84, went to his eternal rest with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Dr. Rape was born in Port Orange, FL on September 10, 1931. He obtained his Pharmacy Degree at the University of Florida and continued his education graduating from Emory University with his medical degree in 1957. Dr. Rape moved his family to Sanford and began his cardiology practice which lasted for 35 years. He then served as the on- staff Cardiologist at the VA hospital in Daytona Beach, FL for several more years before fully retiring in Sanford. Dr. Rape was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lake Mary, FL. His was passionate about hunting, fishing and gardening. Dr. Rape was predeceased by his parents Junius Chalmers Rape and Annie Lora Carlton Rape. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Jane Michael Rape. Together they had four sons: Robert Chalmers Rape, Dr.William Gregory Rape (Melissa Rape), Stephen Christopher Rape RPh (Jeannine Pilgrim Rape), David Jonathan Rape. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Joshua Chalmers Rape, Kristen Nicole Rape Johnston, Ashley Christine Rape, William Andrew Rape, Kelsey Leigh Rape, Anna Elise Rape, Brandon Christopher Rape, Logan Jonathan Rape, Makayla Christy Rape and Cameron Jameson Rape. In addition, he has one great grandson, Samuel Taylor Johnston. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Baldwin-Fairchild Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sanford April 1, 2016 from 6pm – 8pm. Dr. Rape’s service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Lake Mary April 2, 2016 at 2pm with a reception to follow. A private family graveside service will follow the reception.
