Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Mesaros (Sr.) and Verda Mesaros (Burns). She graduated from Bishop O’Reilly High School and worked for Sam’s Club for over 25 years. Lorraine was always involved in community service - be it while at Sam’s Club or doing things through the Eagles or just organizing a spaghetti dinner among friends for a family in need. People always counted on her to organize and coordinate these efforts because she was good at it and enjoyed giving back.
Lorraine had resided in Central Florida since 1984, moving there from Shavertown, PA. She was an avid sports fan, and regularly cheered for the Florida State Seminoles (all sports) and New York Yankees. She also rooted for the University of North Carolina sports programs, in support of her son, Bill. She generally disliked the Florida Gators on all levels.
Preceding her in death are her father, Johnny; her mother, Verda; and her brother, John Mesaros. Ann Jones, of Murrells Inlet, S.C, maternal Aunt and dear friend, died the day before Lorraine (May 28, 2023).
Surviving is her daughter, Nicole Evans, of Lake Mary, FL; her son, Bill Kanasky Jr., of Sanford, FL; three grandchildren (Billy Kanasky, Ashley Evans, and Dean Kanasky); son-in-law, Doug Evans; and daughter-in-law, Kim Kanasky.
Her ashes will be buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton PA, with Johnny, Verda, and John this fall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Fraternal Order of Eagles would be appreciated:
