Our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Kenneth Alan Novick, 70, of Oviedo, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 28, 2022. He was born on August 1, 1951 in Flushing, NY to the late Louis Karl Novick and the late Charlotte Fischer Novick.
Upon graduating from SUNY at Albany with a B.S. and a Medical Technology degree, he traveled abroad across Europe on a motorbike and ultimately enrolled at the University of Bordeaux, France to study Medicine. After two years of study, Ken took time off to return to the U.S. where he went on to meet his future wife, Maitté Surlen.
Affectionately known by his friends and family as “Ken” or “Kenny”; he was rarely to be found without a guitar, banjo or paintbrush in hand. His love of music and art were a huge part of who he was. On August 30, 1980, Ken and Maitté went on to be married. Ken returned to his studies at the University of Bordeaux in France where he later received his Medical Doctorate. Ken went on to practice Medicine as a Pediatrician for over 30 years in the Central Florida area. Dr. Novick was an extremely passionate practitioner who was thoroughly devoted to the care of countless children and their families throughout his career.
In addition to Maitté, his loving wife and devoted partner of 41 years; Ken is survived by his son, Jared Evans Novick, his wife, Belinda and their children as well as his daughter Kerry Leah Toler, her husband, Brandon and their children. He also leaves behind his two much-loved cats, Chloe and Leo.
In lieu of flowers, Ken would have appreciated donations made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html. Please feel free to select "Dedicate My Donation" to Dr. Kenneth Alan Novick if you so choose.
The family would like to thank the staff of Orlando AdventHealth Neuro Critical Care and the Inpatient Hospice Ward for their care and compassion.
