David R. "Dave" Marshall, age 68 of Sanford, FL passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 27, 2014, after a brave 9-month battle with bile duct cancer. Dave was born on January 20, 1946, in Miami Beach, FL to the late Norman and Mildred Marshall. He graduated from Edgewater High School, Orlando, FL where he was the #1 player on the tennis team. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving 2 years in Virginia Beach, VA. He worked in the Telecommunication Industry for over 40 years, and retired from BellSouth as an Assistant Manager. Dave lived his life to help others, and enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing and boating with his wife, Janie. During his retirement years he enjoyed riding his Harley. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ginger Lathrop, Bronnie Brown, and brother, Jimmy Marshall. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Janie Marshall; daughter, Tracy Marshall; son, David Marshall; grandchildren, Jessica Knupp, Bradley Marshall, and Kadence Marshall; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and his favorite companion, Whiskers. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Baldwin Fairchild, Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, FL 32771. Reception to follow from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
