Carolyn Sue Peterson (Susie), a beacon of love and light, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on November 30, 1952, in LaPorte, Indiana, Sue's life journey was one marked by profound love, faith, and boundless generosity.
Sue's story was intertwined with that of her high school sweetheart, Jay Peterson, whom she married on July 29, 1972, embarking on a remarkable journey of companionship that spanned over five decades. They just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, more in love than the day they said “I do!” Theirs is a love story for the generations. Together, they created a family founded on love and shared values.
A graduate of John Glenn High School, Sue's zest for life was evident in her every endeavor. She was a devoted mother to her son, Jayson Peterson, her daughter, Jessica Doney, and her son, Joshua Peterson (who went to be with the Lord at birth), all of whom she nurtured with boundless love and unwavering support. Sue's heart overflowed with pride for her family, including her cherished son-in-law, Rob Doney, and her adored granddaughters, Madison and Skylar Doney, who brought immeasurable joy into her life.
Beyond her roles as wife, mother, and Mimi, Sue was a beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to countless individuals whose lives she touched with her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter. Her artistic spirit and creative talents infused every aspect of her life, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sue's steadfast faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's triumphs and trials with grace and resilience. She found solace and strength in the Lord, illuminating the lives of those around her with her devotion and steadfast optimism.
Sue's legacy is one of love, laughter, and enduring kindness. Her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her, and her spirit will continue to inspire countless others for generations to come.
