Barbara Rodriguez, 53 years of age, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on January 21, 2024. Barbara was born on April 7, 1970, in New Britain, Connecticut, to Jadwiga and Franciszek Fiertek. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, St Thomas Aquinas High School, and graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Barbara was in nursing school when she agreed to a blind date with a handsome Nephrology Fellow, who turned out to be the love of her life. She married Dr. Alfred Rodriguez on September 17, 1999, and they made their home in Orlando, Florida. Barbara continued her nursing career as a dialysis nurse until the birth of their son Ryan in 2003. She came to realize her greatest joy and most rewarding job, was her role as a stay-at-home mom and homemaker for her family. She enjoyed volunteering and participating in school events as well as preparing students for communion at Annunciation Catholic Church. Barbara enjoyed traveling, cooking, shopping, and especially spending time at the beach. She made every birthday, holiday, or ordinary Tuesday special if you were with her, showering her love, attention, and gifts on you in spectacular fashion. She made everyone feel special, even her loving canine companion, Cooper, who never left her side.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Franciszek Fiertek. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Dr. Alfred Rodriguez, son Ryan Rodriguez, her mother, Jadwiga Fiertek, brother, Andrew Fiertek(Michelle), Brother in law, Dr. Peter Rodriguez (Belinda), sister in law, Vivian Rodriguez and 5 Nieces and Nephews.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 COUNTY ROAD 46A, SANFORD, FL 32771. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 5000 COUNTY ROAD 46A, SANFORD, FL 32771. A committal service will occur Monday, January 29, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Queen of Angels Cemetery, 1901 Queen of Angels Drive, Winter Park, FL 32792.
