She spent her childhood days playing in the open fields and heavenly gardens of the sprawling compound of the British Embassy in Gholhak, back in the days when Britain lorded the world and her father was in the charge of maintaining the vast complex of gardens in the embassy compound where the family also lived in.
Her stories of childhood shenanigans of how she along with her rambunctious brothers and sisters would spend their days climbing trees, picking all the juicy berries they desired, running around in the meadows and picking flowers were highly amusing to anyone who was eager to listen.
As she grew to adulthood, having been gifted with an amiable personality, a pleasant speaking voice and an excellent command of the English language, she landed a job of telecommunication operator at the same embassy where the family lived in.
It was a job she immensely enjoyed and held until shortly before her move to the US.
In the meantime, she met a promising handsome young man by the name of Amir who happened to be her younger brother's former classmate.
They fell in love, got married and subsequently had two sons and a daughter together.
The family eventually immigrated to the US, in the late 70s, choosing Atlanta, Georgia, as their new place of residency.
Her caring nature and sunny disposition soon won the hearts of most around her. She was adored by friends, families, neighbors and all who came to know her. Everyone felt welcome visiting Mrs. Karimi's home, and of course, her exceptional cooking skills was a great motivator as well.
As she watched her children finish school, get jobs, and move on to have families of their own, she and our father continued their journey together, where it took them to Los Angeles, CA and eventually back to Atlanta, GA.
Her ship finally came to a dock on a cold, rainy December night, just three weeks shy of her 92nd birthday.
She is joining our father, Amir, once again, who preceded her by more than two years. Together, they will embark on yet another blessed, wonderful journey.
