Patricia (Patty) Ann (Gilgut) Johnson, born September 28, 1942, in Waltham, Massachusetts to Constantine Joseph and Minnie Adeline Gilgut passed November 16, 2022, after a fiercely fought battle with breast cancer.
Raised in Amherst, Massachusetts, she attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst graduating with a BA in business with an economic focus. Here, she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. After college, Patty was transferred to San Francisco, where she was introduced to Weldon Johnson.
She was a lady of many skills. Her attention to detail, determination, impeccable manners, diplomacy and tireless work ethic would have made her unstoppable in any chosen career. Instead, she selflessly dedicated her life to both supporting in the success of Weldon’s career, the care of her children and grandchildren.
Patty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Weldon Howard Johnson, her son Gregory Charles Johnson, her parents, Constantine and Minnie Gilgut, her stepmother Maria Tadd Gilgut, and her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Dorothea Gilgut.
Patty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Deborah Johnson Bright (John), her absolute favorite grandchildren John Weldon, Katherine Elizabeth and Adeline Burke Bright, her niece, Amy Gilgut Stevenson (Scott), nephew, Carl Gilgut (Sara Menton), stepsister, Maria Tadd and sister-in-law, Rebecca Johnson Bearss (Charles).
Visitation is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2023, at H.M. Patterson & Son – Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 3:00 pm.
