Nancy Louise Hunter, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the morning of November 19, 2021. Nancy, the daughter of Ralph and Adeline Schroeder, was born and raised in Dixon, Illinois then later moved with her family to Ottawa, Canada where she would finish high school and go on to attend Queen’s University. Nancy met her beloved husband Doug in Ottawa during high school. They raised their three children in Canada before moving to Dunwoody, GA in 1979 where she and Doug have spent the last 42 years together with their children and seven grandchildren nearby. Nancy’s kind, loving spirit lives on in her family, who will always remember her warmth, laughter, and disarming wit. In addition to nurturing her family, Nancy surrounded her home with beautiful flowers and plants. She loved her years participating in the Wynterhall Garden Club alongside fellow gardening enthusiasts. Nancy is survived by her high school sweetheart and best friend of 64 years, Douglas Hunter; their three children Robert Hunter (Kristin), Tracy Croxton (David), and Jeff Hunter (Jill); and their seven grandchildren Evelyn and Claire Hunter, Brittany (Brandon) Smith, Hunter and Nicole Croxton, and Ashley and Jake Hunter. She is also survived by her younger brother David Schroeder, his wife Bernie, and her niece Jennifer Wood. She will be deeply missed by many. A memorial service will be held beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Dunwoody Methodist Church.
