.RAY, Mildred Weir, Atlanta, GA, age 93, died Friday, August 26, 2016. She was a native of Weir, MS and long-time resident of Florida and Alabama. Atlanta had been her home for the last 26 years. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, an excellent cook and seamstress, and a sweet friend to many. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Monday, August 29, 2016, at North Springs United Methodist Church in Sandy Springs. Mrs. Ray is survived by her two daughters Linda Ray Pratt and her husband Bill Pratt from Omaha, NE; Amelia Ray Gambino and her husband Tom Gambino of Atlanta; and a grandson, Anthony Ray and his dear friend Luz Cardoza of Smyrna. Mrs. Ray was predeceased by her husband James Harold Ray, her son James H. Ray, Jr., and one sister Christine Dye. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Springs United Methodist Church (northspringsumc.com) or the American Heart Association.
