Mark was born September 2, 1966 in Cheektowaga, New York to Alton Gordon Herlan. He graduated from Williamsville East High School in 1985 and from the University of Buffalo in 1989 and continued his education at Harvard University. Mark went on to start Enpol, LLC as owner/operator and CEO in Atlanta, GA. Mark was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from University of Buffalo for his philanthropy work through UB. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing tennis and golf and watching the Buffalo Bills play on Sunday. Mark was always there to help mentor friends with business advice.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Alton Gordon Herlan and his step father Sidney Pastor. Mark is survived by his son Franklyn Herlan, daughter Isabelle Herlan, stepson Joshua Vasil, and fiancé Cara Vasil. Mark was a loving father, fiancé, mentor, and friend to all.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at H.M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Reverend Leo J. Gahafer will be officiating. Reception to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/). Mark will be laid to rest in Cheektowaga, New York with his father.
