Lana Margaret Quibell, age 74, of Brookhaven, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. Lana was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa on December 16, 1949. She received a degree in Computer Science from Witwatersrand University. She married Edward Quibell in 1978, and they settled in Atlanta, Georgia. An avid athlete, she competed for South Africa in the 1969 Latin Dancing World Championship and won the U.S. National 40+ and 45+ Age Group Squash Championships. She started several businesses and non-profits, including the Farmhouse Tea Shoppe and Vici International, a wholesale importer of upscale South African home decor.
Mrs. Quibell was preceded in death by her loving husband, Keith Edward Quibell and is survived by her daughters, Michelle Quibell (Adam Gray), Deborah Quibell (Hector Ramos), Carryn Quibell (Mark Heather); five grandchildren; and sisters, Sally Anne Allpass, Colleen Wilkins, Charmaine Venter.
A funeral Mass for Lana will be held at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 7171 Glenridge Dr., Sandy Springs, GA 30328 on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10 o’clock. Reception will follow the service at 12:00 PM. Location TBD.
