Ebert Van Buren, Jr was born on September 6, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. He peacefully passed away Sunday February 12, 2023, at home with family. He graduated from Loomis Academy high school and attended Emory University and Georgia State University in Atlanta Ga. In 1971 Ebert retired Major after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force. He served as a combat pilot during the Viet Nam war and received nine air medals. During his years in the Air Force he also served in Iceland, Germany, and Turkey. He was a generous, loving person with a great sense of humor and cared deeply for his family and wife Barbara until her passing in 2009.
Ebert is survived by his four children, Byron (wife Terrie), Bruce (wife Teddy), Mark (wife Cheryl) and Leslie; his five grandchildren Bradley, Knox, Sidney, Miriam and Noam; his siblings James, Emily and Judith.
