Dr. Crispin Warner Paul was born September 21, 1941, in Rock Hill, SC, the son of William and Vera Paul. He passed away August 7, 2017, in Atlanta, GA. Cris is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ginger, and two children: Virginia Peyton Rogers (Dean) of Breckenridge, CO, and Crispin Michael Paul (Anjanette) of Atlanta, GA. and one grandson, Turner Glen Rogers, of Breckenridge.
Cris was a proud graduate of Wofford College, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order, and the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Upon graduation from dental school he served in the United States Navy for two years, including duty in Vietnam with the 3rd Marine Division in 1967-68. He was blessed to meet Ginger McDonough in San Francisco in 1969 and they were married in her hometown of Dallas in 1970. Shortly afterward Ginger and Cris moved to Dunwoody, GA, where Cris opened his dental practice in 1971. He retired from his practice of restorative dentistry in 2006. The Pauls have been lifelong residents of Dunwoody.
Cris was a devoted and faithful follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband and a devoted father and grandfather. He was an avid reader, fisherman, bridge player, and golfer. Cris and his family were long time involved members of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church and Cris served as a member of Vestry. Professionally, he was extremely proud of his association with the Pankey Institute of Advanced Dentistry in Key Biscayne, FL, where he served as an instructor and mentor for many years and later president of the Board of Trustees. He truly loved his long time office staff and wonderful patients, many of whom became close friends. After retirement Cris and Ginger enjoyed travelling and spending parts of the year in Vero Beach, Asheville, and Breckenridge (especially after Turner came along in 2015).
Visitation will be at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd. NE, Sandy Springs from 1-3 PM on Thursday, August 10th. Services will be on Friday, August 11th, at 2 PM, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 4755 N. Peachtree Rd., Dunwoody.
In lieu of flowers, Cris requested that memorials may be made to 410 Bridge (https://www.410bridge.org/donate/ or 3955 Marconi Drive Ste. 205 / Alpharetta GA 30005) and the American Cancer Society (https://donate3.cancer.org/ or P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123).
Cris will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
