SAGAMORE BEACH, MA – Robert Edwin Wilde, Jr., 65, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on February 17, 2024 in Plymouth, MA. He was the husband of Corinne A. (DeLeo) of 34 years and his 4-legged “son” Cooper. He is survived by his daughter Ashley (Adam) Bunker and two grandchildren; Brady and Layla, all of Brewster and his sister Barbara Morrill and her partner Michael Benjamin of ME. Bob was born in Boston, raised in Natick and was the son of the late Robert E. and Rose P. (Egasti) Wilde. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Robert A. DeLeo of TX and brother-in-law Robert M. DeLeo of VA. Bob is also survived by his mother-in-law Clare DeLeo, sister-in-law Elise DeLeo and brother-in-law Daniel (Michelle) DeLeo, all of TX as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Natick High School, Bob attended Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and Cape Cod Community College. Bob began his career working in the concrete industry and started his own business, What About Bob? Handyman Services, when he decided to venture into something different.
Bob was an easy going, good, honest man who was there lending a hand to everyone. Bob was an avid car enthusiast and could often be found at car shows entering his own classic car or envying others. He also enjoyed building and showing car models, often winning trophies at both shows. Bob loved the quiet Cape life having spent summers in Brewster while growing up and could be found listening to jazz at the beach as often as possible. Bob was a family man who loved nothing better than to jump in his car with his wife and dog and go for a road trip.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 27th from 4 to 8 pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rte 6A, Sandwich, MA. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 28th at 11 am at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich, MA. Burial will be private.
