Robert E. Monahan Jr.

Rob was born on May 18, 1951, to Robert and Kathleen (Keogh) Monahan in Framingham, Massachusetts. Rob graduated from Framingham North High School in 1969. He went on to study business at Bryant and Stratton College in Boston, Massachusetts.

He met his beloved wife Beverly (Cooper) Monahan of 48 years in 1972 and they were married in September of 1974.

Rob worked for WPLM Radio in Plymouth for over 35 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with his friends.

He was an amazing dad to his two daughters Darlene Davidson and her husband Gary Davidson of Rutland, Massachusetts and Melissa Monahan and her life partner James Gardiner of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

Rob was a proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren: Tyler Marshall, Caelin Davidson, Julia Winnell, Emma Davidson, Gage Davidson, Jack Bythrow, and Logan Bythrow. He enjoyed nothing more than taking his grandbabies on vacation to Strawberry Park in Connecticut and Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Colleen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Corpus Christi Parish 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road East Sandwich. Visitation prior to mass 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA. Burial at Sandwich Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to The MSA Coalition 7918 Jones Branch Drive Suite 300 McLean, VA 22102.
