Julia (Sheila) Biskobing passed unexpectedly at her home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Sheila was born to Con and Evelyn Randles (née McGovern) on April 22nd, 1954, in the Bronx, New York, where she was also raised.
Besides being beautiful, she also excelled in her academic studies. After graduating from Saint Nicholas of Tolentine High School, Sheila went on to earn a degree in Civil Engineering from NYU. At the time, Sheila was one of few women in her graduating class to earn a degree in the male-dominated field.
Sheila was proud of her Irish heritage. She most enjoyed meeting family and hearing stories about growing up in the old country. She was adventurous and enjoyed traveling. On one of her many visits to Germany, she was fortunate enough to witness the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Sheila loved cooking and sampling food from around the world. Most often, she could be found in the kitchen cooking up anything from soups, roasts, sauces and scones, usually making enough to feed the neighborhood. Along with cooking, Sheila also enjoyed gardening and being able to use homegrown tomatoes, cucumbers, rhubarb and herbs.
Having grown up in the Bronx, Sheila was a huge fan of the New York Yankees. She passed this passion onto her son Brandon. They had the opportunity to meet some of the legends: Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, and Roger Clemens to name a few. In her later years, Sheila continued her love of the game and followed the Cape Cod Baseball League during the summer.
Sheila was predeceased by her parents Con and Evelyn. She is survived by her son Brandon Biskobing of South Carolina, and her siblings: Michael (Sherry), Patrick (Sheila), Caroline Crowley (James)and Kerry Morahan (Martin).
A Celebration of Julia's life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
