Carol Marie Wenzel

The family of Carol Marie Wenzel of East Sandwich, MA is saddened to announce her passing on January 14, 2023 at the age of 68 years old. A native of Foxborough, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth (Conniff) Reynolds. She was a graduate of Foxborough High School.

She married her husband, Michael John Wenzel, in 1982. They have three children: Timothy John Wenzel (Gretchen), Heidi Lynne McLaughlin (Kevin), and Heather Marie Wenzel. She was an amazing Nana to six loving grandchildren: Madeline Santoro (Joseph), Michael Wenzel (Melea), Haley McLaughlin, Liam McLaughlin, Gavin Garte and Neelan Garte. She is also survived by her siblings, Arthur Reynolds (Edith) and Deborah Bassignani (Mark), as well as her niece, Danielle Milner, and nephews Anthony Bassignani, Philip Amiot, and Matthew Amiot.

Carol was well-loved in her small town. She loved and cherished her children and grandchildren. She provided never ending support and love for her family. She and her husband Michael worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. She would proudly boast about her children and grandchildren. Carol will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, nana and auntie. She had a wonderful personality, often bringing laughter to those around her. One of her strongest traits was her ability to make friends anywhere she went. Carol loved to help family and friends, whether it was cooking, organizing, shopping, or lending an ear, she was always there. Carol will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Carol had many different hobbies and interests. Carol loved working in her gardens, interior decorating, attending her grandchildren’s sports games, visiting Spring Hill and Sandy Neck Beach, and spending time with her many friends. As a passionate dog lover, Carol also considered her goldens Amber, Ali, Logan, and Gracie to be members of her family. Together, they would all accompany her on their many trips to the beach, where they forged some of their most lasting memories.

A Visitation Service will be held at 4pm – 7pm, on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 MA-6A, Sandwich, MA 02563. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Harbor Church, 957 Falmouth Rd, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Carol wishes that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (www.netrf.org), for her husband, Michael Wenzel.
