Phyllis Emily Girard November 23, 1920 - October 18, 2014 Born Filomena Biele on Thanksgiving Day in the Bronx, New York to a large Italian family, she was the 14th of 16 children. From the beginning Phyllis was a determined soul, seeking out knowledge and love throughout her life. She was a devoted, hard working woman ahead of her times always looking to enrich her life and the lives of those around her. In particular she was a loving mother of three beautiful children she lovingly referred to as her "three precious jewels" - Kathryn Cirincione-Coles, Andrew Cirincione and Diane Cirincione-Jampolsky. From a young age Phyllis worked to help support her family during the Great Depression and in the years to follow, she held down many responsible positions. She has been a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for 58 years. At age 75 she graduated with honors and pride from Monterey Peninsula College as the most senior woman to ever do so. She was a long time Eucharist Minister in the Catholic Parishes where she lived including St. Angeles in Pacific Grove, CA. and San Rafael Mission Church in San Rafael, CA. From mid-life on, Phyllis traveled the world and loved it. Her whole life she had a strong work ethic, a deep faith, a love of dogs, respect for others, and a compassionate and open heart. She was a teacher of peace, gratitude, and unconditional love and touched the hearts of so very many. Phyllis leaves her daughter Kathryn Cirincione-Coles and her husband Gerry Cirincione Coles, her son Andrew Cirincione and his wife Karen, and her daughter Diane Cirincione-Jampolsky and her husband Jerry Jampolsky, her son Jeff Girard and his wife Mary, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Doran-Girard. She leaves her grandchildren Christine Coles-Morales and her husband Kevin Morales, Karin Cirincione-Coles, Kevin Cirincione and his wife Melissa Shulman-Cirincione, Kirsten Cirincione, Justin Girard, Stacy Girard, Nathaniel Girard and his wife, Kasey, as well as Lee and Holly Jampolsky and Greg and Lucia Jampolsky. She also leaves her great-grandchildren Jeska Bravante and her husband James, Max Coles-Busse, Avery and Riley Cirincione-Lynch, Brandon and Maya Cirincione, and Jacquelyn, Grant, Jalena, and Lexi Jampolsky. Phyllis was pre-deceased by her first husband Thomas Cirincione, her second husband Lawrence Aim‚ Girard and her son Larry Girard Jr. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 25th at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the San Rafael Mission Church located at 1104 Fifth Ave. in San Rafael, California. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to one of the following: Attitudinal Healing International, St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Humane Society.
