Roberto "Papa Robe" Cortez Medina

Roberto Cortez, aged 86, of San Jose, California passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Roberto was born in Michoacan, Mexico, to parents Pedro and Carmen Cortez. There were eight children born to the happy couple before immigrating to California.

Roberto was a loving father to seven children; Armando Cortez (Caritina Torres), the Late Gerardo Cortez, Daughter-in-law, Lilia Oliveros, Isabel Cortez (Adolpho Ortiz), Laura Cortes (Luciano), Heriberto Cortez (Dolores Torres), Rosario Cortez (Victor Garcia), and Guadalupe Trujillo ( Enrique). He was an amazing grandfather to 23, and a caring great-grandfather to 35 and one on the way! He was a dear brother to Tomas, Jose, Marcial, Mariano, Saul, Miguel, Eulalia, Maria Luisa, and Ninfa Cortez.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 5:00pm until 9pm, at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel at 710 Willow St, San Jose, CA 95125, with a spanish rosary being recited at 7. Friday, June 2nd, a Funeral Mass will occur at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 12:00pm, 325 Willow Street, San Jose, CA 95110 with burial to follow at 1:30pm at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2650 Madden Avenue, San Jose, CA 95116.
