Jing was born in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province of China. At the age of 31, Jing emigrated to the United States where she met her husband, Jerry Johnson. Together they had three children and eventually built their home in San Jose.
For many years, Jing worked as a Special Education Para Educator for the Alum Rock school district at Meyer School, where she was highly commended for her strong work ethic, hard work, and daily contributions. Jing was an extremely talented individual who enjoyed creating beautiful paintings on cards for family and friends, creating works of art out of origami, and recently started to knit. Jing was fascinated with growing succulent plants, which she would sell at garage sales. Jing enjoyed the study of Chinese medicine, Agatha Christie novels, classic movies, going on hikes, fishing mountain streams, and regularly volunteering at her children's schools.
Jing left us too soon and her presence will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. Jing is survived by her husband, Jerry Johnson, her three children, Jing's parents Liqiu Zhang (father), Qingfang Huang (mother), and Zhu Zhang (brother).
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St., San Jose. A funeral service will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church, San Jose, on July 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. Jing's final resting place will be in the San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey, California. A GoFundMe page for the Johnson's has been created by family friends to assist with expenses the family is facing. The Johnson family is extremely grateful for everyone's prayers and support during this difficult time.
