Hilda was born on September 7, 1949 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Rosa Moreno and Francisco Castillo.
She was the older sister of and provider to Franco Castillo. She was endearingly known as “Tia Hilda” or “Abuela” by family and those close to her.
From a young age she found her passion in taking care of others. She started taking care of the Ortuondo family in 1983 and has been a part of their family ever since. She dedicated her entire life to ensuring that the family had everything they needed, selflessly, as was her nature.
In 1991, she moved to the United States from Buenos Aires and began a new chapter in her life. She continued her role as caretaker and cultivated a career in the culinary field. Since coming to the U.S., she has lived in Southern California and San Jose, where she spent the remainder of her life, primarily providing care and love to her beloved family.
