Guadalupe was born on October 28, 1948 in Missouri to Gonzalo and Alberta Montalvo. On November 25, 1967, he married Lorenza Chavez in Bakersfield, CA. They raised 5 children, 2 sons, Guadalupe Jr & Ricardo and 3 daughters, Veronica, Julissa & Virginia.
Guadalupe relocated with his family to San Jose, CA and lived there for 51 years. He had a great sense of humor, a ready smile for one and all and made friends everywhere he went. There was never a shortage of laughter when he was around. Often you would find him whistling, enjoying music, singing or playing musical instruments.
He was a devout Christian and a pillar in his church community. He was always present and firm in his faith and relationship with God. He attended church every day and was always one of the first to volunteer whenever a new project was presented. He loved all of his Brothers and Sisters in Christ and enjoyed being a part of the Choir to sing praises to the Lord.
Guadalupe was never too busy to listen to someone that needed his help or advice. He was a friendly shoulder to cry on and never judged. If you needed somewhere to stay for the night or a few days, the doors to his home were always open. You could always find him helping someone in need.
Guadalupe was a family man, a loving father, a role model to his children. He was deeply loved by his sons and daughters. He was always there for them, ready with a word of advice and listened to their problems. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and 3 siblings. He is survived by his wife, 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 6 siblings and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Flowers may be sent to Oak Hill Funeral Home to arrive no later than January 6 (end of day) at 300 Curtner Ave. San Jose, CA 95125.
