Desiree Levy

Desiree Levy, born in San Jose, CA on February 21, 1970 entered into rest in San Jose, CA on October 19, 2022. Beloved daughter of Mary Lou Levy. Cherished sister of Melissa Gallo (Carmelo), dearest Tia (aunt) to Ashlynne Gallo (Robert Glover) and Cassie Gallo.

A graduate of San Jose High she was a proud Bulldog who enjoyed attending annual Big Bone Games with her family. She also attended Horace Mann Elementary and Peter Burnett Junior High where she made life-long friends.

She embodied the value of hard work that her parents instilled in her. No matter what position she held, she gave her all to her employers. She started working in retail and advanced to the position of Accounts Receivables, last working for Streakwave.

Lulu, as she was known by those who knew her best, had the soul of an artist who loved the process of creation whether in meals she prepared for her family, creating pieces of artwork for her family, or spending time at Petroglyphs painting ceramic pieces with her nieces.

She was always the life of the party. Her smile was a mile wide, her laugh was contagious and her magnanimous personality could be felt by all. Desiree loved to travel, having gone to Louisiana for Mardi Gras, Las Vegas, Florida, Hawaii, and several countries in Europe; she was constantly looking forward to her next adventure. Desiree was always there for many people when called upon during their trials and tribulations, and her giving heart and quick wit were well known to anyone who had the privilege of crossing her path.

She loved litle more than spending time with her family and friends going to Disney, attending San Jose Giants games for the Fourth of July, and San Francisco Giants games on occasion. She could often be found with a turkey leg in hand cheering on her team or walking around Disney parks. She loved spending holidays with her family, or simply sharing a meal with them. She was the family cook and her annual Thanksgiving feast was something that immediate and extended family looked forward to all year.

Those left behind take comfort in knowing that she is now in heaven in the arms of all of the family who have gone before her.

Desiree is survived by her mother Mary Lou Levy, her sister Melissa Gallo (Carmelo), her nieces Ashlynne Gallo (Robert Glover), and Cassie Gallo as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Percy Levy, her Tio and Tia Natividad and Esther Hernandez and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 in the Drawing Room Chapel of Oak Hill Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m.
