I am Rudy Yanez i am the 7th son of connie i am the baby of one of the biggest family in this town i remember my mother as a stern mom she new if i was telling the truth or not until her last days she could not talk but as i spoke to my mother i wanted her to think all was great and i was on the straight and narrow i showed her a pocket full of money and tried to fool her when actually it was my life savings in both pocket as i spoke  about how i was doing so good and make her proud of me she looked at me and with one finger and her head moved left to right she knew i was not telling the truth  so i promised my mom i would be a better man a honest man a hard working man to make her proud and to be proud of myself this life is a very short life  my mothers wishes were simple for me to just do the things right .that was my moms advice to me it was the last conversation before she passed away that i had with her.from the baby your 7th son RudyYanez  i love you mother 

Tia Connie, forever in my heart.  You were so warm and welcoming every time we visited.  It wasn't enough you had a whole bunch of your own children that my parents would bring all ten of us over too. It was such a fun time to visit. Don't know how you managed but you fed us all and housed us all for the weekend.  Will cherish these beautiful memories always. May you rest in peace. Give my love to tio Chava. ❤❤

I will always remember coming to San Jose to visit my favorite family!! You always had food on the table, music playing, and lots and lots of family in the house!! You and my Tio Salvador were always so welcoming and nice to me!! I love you so much! Rest In Heaven and in peace

I remember Connie making dinner for her family every Thursday.   I was honored to be invited to a Thursday night dinner with the family and it was special.  I saw the twinkle in Connie’s eyes as she watched everyone enjoy her delicious meal.  Thank you for inviting me.   I will never forget you.  May you Rest In Peace.  My deepest condolences to the family.

A bell is ringing, there it is again. I wake up look at the clock it’s 8 am. Mom is awake hungry and ready for breakfast.
I roll out of bed put my slippers on go to her room to find her sitting patiently at the edge of her bed. She greets me with a smile when she sees me enter her room.
I help her put her slippers on her feet and put her jacket on.  One, two, three, from the bed to the wheelchair she goes. We take a short ride to the kitchen and I park her at the table turn on the TV.
I get the small black frying pan turn on the burner add oil then peel and shred a potato for her hash browns. Now I start another burner get a small pot add milk and a chunk of abuelita chocolate, whisking away while it heats up. Back to the hash browns, flip them over so they don’t burn, back to the chocolate, whisk, whisk, whisk.
Oops I forgot her bell and water bottle, run back to her room get them and take them to her at the kitchen table. Sorry! 
Hash browns are done, out of the pan and onto a plate. Back to the chocolate, whisk, whisk, whisk turn the burner lower. Time to cook the egg, add oil to the frying pan and turn down the heat because we don’t want a crispy egg.  Crack the egg into the pan, while its cooking get a cup and add a couple spoons a sugar and fill with chocolate.
Back to the egg, flip it making sure not to pop the yoke. Egg is done ready to join hash browns on the plate. Now to find her fork and knife, the smaller lighter ones, the regular size are too heavy for her to lift. Ahh here they are, cut up the hash browns get a napkin here’s your breakfast mom. Oh hold on here comes the hot chocolate and a donut, enjoy.
What’s that, oh right, here is the salt.

Auntie Connie, my favorite memory is your beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. For me it always lit up the room. I know family is welcoming you into heaven and smiling to see you. Vanora

Mom, I love you and miss you! My best memories are when we would go shopping on New Year’s Day while everyone else was recuperating from NYE.  I miss the days when I would take my lunch to go find you shopping at the Mervyns in Milpitas.  You did love shopping! Also, we would go to Macy’s every Friday (maybe I will continue the tradition). Next Food! I remember you would roast the tomatoes and chili, and have me smash them by hand, my fingers would be burning. Finally you started making your Hot chili in a blender! Your homemade tortillas were the best. You would make me one special gordita with cheese with the last little bit of masa.  I can still see you tossing the hot tortillas to my brothers at the dinner table (like a flying saucer). Your tamales, menudo, and chicken mole were awesome! God bless you! You are now in Heaven with my dad Chavita dancing on the streets of Gold! Give dad, the Lord Jesus, grandpa Cardona, and all our loved ones a big hug for me. Love you so much, Gloria
