Christina Cardona Gomez was born January 10, 1938 in Santa Barbara, Ca. Daughter to Pedro and Santos Cardona.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Lesli Gomez, grandchildren Angel and Cynthia Mesta, and parents Pedro and Santos Cardona
It would be wrong to say that Christina lost the fight to cancer because she never stopped fighting, she battled fiercely. There was never any quit in Christina. She would continue to show us all how strong and determined she was. She was truly an inspiration.
Christina met the love of her life, Manuel Gomez in junior high and they both say it was love at first sight. They married in 1956 and had three children. Susan, Lesli and Manuel Jr. They were truly the love of her life.
Christina had a passion for cooking and she was an excellent cook. She cooked with love and you could taste it in her food. She instilled this passion in each of her kids and grandkids. Food brings family together and Christina knew this. She taught all of her kids and grandkids to cook. Even giving cooking lessons to all of them in their early years. You could show up at her home unannounced and you were sure to get fed and at the same time share love and laughs. This is what made Christina happy. She loved having her family together, nothing was more important than family.
Christina Gomez always put other’s first. She was a caretaker to all. While her husband was in the Air Force, he was severely injured and needed twenty-four-hour care, so she did what she does best and took care of him and nursed him back to health. She did this while raising their three children and working two jobs. Christina never complained. She was a true warrior. After a long battle with lung cancer Christina passed with her family by her side.
Christina was survived by her husband Manuel Gomez, Susan Montes, Lesli Gomez, Brother Ernest Cardona, Sister Josephine Santos, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
