Beverly Arlene Madison Green was born and raised in San Francisco, California to Harold and Gladys Madison, who have preceded her in death. She was the fourth born among 6 other siblings. Beverly accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized at Double Rock Baptist Church in San Francisco. She was a current and active member of Antioch Baptist Church in San Jose for many years.
Beverly completed her education close to home and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in SF, attended San Francisco State, where she earned her BA, MA degrees in Higher Education. She also went on to attain her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education from Bern University in 1999. Giving Her, Her well deserved Professional Title of Doctor Beverly Green. Although Beverly was self-motivated, determined and goal- oriented in all of her aspirations and accomplishments, she knew that these achievements were the result of her Faith in God and His Blessings upon her.
Beverly married Benjamin Green and together they raised two children, a daughter Keturah a son Sean, and made their home in San Jose, Ca.
Beverly’s dedicated career in education began as a teacher for two years in Florida, then later returning to California where she continued a 34 year tenure teaching for the East Side Union High School District in San Jose, Ca. Having held the Position of High School Principal before Retiring in 2009. During Beverly’s time at East Side Union High School District, she was a Mentor, Counselor, and Cheerleader for Thousands of Students throughout the years.
Beverly became a member of Jade Temple (Elks Lodge) in 1978 where she became the Chairperson of the Education Department. She grew within the organization to become State and 7 Region Directress. She was later appointed as Grand Directress of Education in 1992. During her time with the Elks Beverly helped develop many programs that helped her Community, and Education
Beverly leaves precious memories with her loving children : Daughter Keturah, Son Sean (Jennifer); four grandchildren: Jaelyn, Theone, Zoe, and Tea; Siblings: Jewel (Josh), Chester (Sarah), Milton, Roderick (Nydra), Maverick (Debra) and Marilyn; a host of loving nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Beverly loved her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
