Swan is survived by this two loving daughters, Bonnie (Brown) Cicchitto of Boynton Beach, FL, and Barbara Clark (Paul) of Warner Robins, GA. Swan had four grandchildren, Jeff Clark, Angela Clark, Nicole(Cicchitto) Snider and Derek Cicchitto. He also had four great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren.
Swan was in his second year at the University of Florida when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Swan enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served in the South Pacific until the war ended. Swan then returned to the University of Florida to earn his degree in Landscape Architecture. He was married in 1948 to Hilma Fields. He opened his own Landscape Company in 1956.
Swan retired in 1987 and in 1994 he moved to San Francisco. He truly enjoyed volunteering at the Symphony, the Asian Art Museum, Project Open Hand and as a Docent at the Stybing Arboretum for several years. Swan lived his final years at the Sequoias in San Francisco and he cherished his friendships he made there and also in the community he loved.
