impeccable taste in clothing, music, food, wine, art, architecture, travel and a lover of women.
Peter passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at the age of 84. His devoted daughter
Rebecca, his son, Chris and daughter Erica, were by his side. He passed peacefully. Peter
enjoyed a full and happy life. He impacted those he spent time with, especially his
grandchildren; Ashley, Justin Joseph, Anyssa, Jayna and Jared as well as greatgrand sons,
Gabriel and Isaiah. Each love, respect and have fond memories of their grandpa. All of his
family have been influenced by his particular tastes, style, and ‘rules’. He is known for his
“Peterisms”, comments, remarks, and opinions he communicated, we all use them! Peter
entertained his family with stories of his childhood, life in Germany during the World War ll, time
coming to America, joining the Army and serving in Korea during non combat time. These
experiences eventually lead him to San Francisco where he married his longtime sweetheart
Karin and later welcomed their daughter, Rebecca. Remarkably, Peter met several friends in
San Francisco he knew in Hamburg, Germany, and they remained close throughout decades.
Although Peter left behind family in Germany, his sister Gerda, and her children, Monica, Sylvia
(currently living in South Carolina) and Christina as well as his brother, Richard, and his
daughter Katherina, all shared many fond memories and visits. Recently, Peter struggled with
mobility and relied on others to take him out for dinner, a movie, or an occasional outing. His
devoted and doting daughter Rebecca has been selfless while caring for Peter. Rebecca’s
husband, Dobie Ayverdi, of almost 10 years has been a rock and sentinel for Rebecca. Chris
and Peter shared Thai food as often as possible and Chris remained a helpful “handyman”
whenever needed. Marisol, Christopher’s wife of 37 years, graciously sent support and home
cooked favorite meals which were appreciated during this time. Erica and her family saw Peter
some weekends and enjoyed seeing movies and eating at his favorite Italian restaurant. These
times will always be cherished.
His wife, and the love of his life, Carol, will greet him in heaven, along with passed friends and
family who await him. No doubt, they will listen to good music, eat amazing food, share wine,
and enjoy each other in wellness and peace. Peter will never be forgotten and missed here on
Earth.
