Efren was so much fun to work with! He told me about his man cave, new refrigerator and family - he was so proud! We'd commiserate about being from Salinas. My co-workers remember having lunch with Efren and what a great storyteller he was. I always thought what a great life he had, and so much love. My thoughts go out to his family.

I was a co-worker with Efren at Caltrans.  I first met him in the mail room where he was always helping me out with shipping stuff and made that process fun.  Later on, he joined our office at New Tech and Research which made coming to work fun.   He and I always chatted and complained about work and sports.  He left an impact on me and Caltrans.

Lupe, I am deeply sorry to get this news. It comes as a shock to me. You and I have known each other as coworkers since November 1996. I noticed immediately the strong unbreakable love between you, your husband, and kids. A great family. You will always have that unbreakable love within you.  Hold your kids tight as you navigate this painful time.
