Dan Luong was born on November 27, 1927 in Canton Province, China. He was the oldest of two sons of Leung Yew and Tang Kang. The family moved to Hong Kong in 1937. In 1939 during World War II Japanese invasion, he left Hong Kong at the age of 12 with his grandmother and aunt; they arrived in Cholon, Vietnam while his parents and younger brother remained in Hong Kong. He finished school by the end of the War and decided to stay in Vietnam. In 1952, he started working for the American Embassy and worked his way up to be chief accountant in the payroll department. He met his wife, Sandy in 1954 and married in 1955. Dan & Sandy had three daughters and one son. He worked for the American Embassy throughout the Vietnam War and in 1975 he and his family were evacuated from Vietnam to the United States and settled in San Francisco. He continued his career as an accountant with the Record Factory and with Gino Morena until he retired in 1997. Dan was survived by his wife, Sandy Luong; his three daughters Angie Luong, Pamela Eagerton, Pauline Luong and son George Luong; son-in-law Parker Eagerton; two granddaughters Vanessa Eagerton and Melissa Rascon; grandson-in-law Rene Rascon; grandson Timothy Eagerton and granddaughter-in-law Meschelle Eagerton; great grandson Danny Rascon and great granddaughter Madison Rascon. He is also survived by his younger brother Yuet Tim Leung and his wife Shui Yoon; niece Ada Leung and nephew Sai Kai Leung.
