With great sadness and a broken heart we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Teodosia Briseño Viorato, (lovingly known as Docha). Teodosia, age 100, passed away peacefully in San Diego, California, at 4:31 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024.
Teodosia was born and raised in the small, picturesque mountain town of Mascota, Jalisco, Mexico on July 14, 1924. She is preceded in death by her parents Ramon Briseño and Maria Lopez Briseño, her sister Clementina Briseño Salcedo, her husband Jose de Jesus Viorato, and her son Enrique Salcedo. She is survived by, and leaves behind, a loving legacy of 10 children, Antonio/Maria Salcedo, Luis/Concepción Salcedo, Basilio/Laura Viorato, Maria/Brad Romich, Josefina Viorato, Rosa/Anthony Ramirez, Margarita/David Lopez, Humberto Viorato, Dolores/Louis Adame, Georgina/Noe Rivera; and was affectionately known as "nina" to 32 grandkids, 58 great grandkids and 9 great great grandkids.
Teodosia came to San Diego in 1950, and was a dedicated homemaker. She lived with her husband, and raised their children, in the Old Town/Mission Hills area until her death.
Teodosia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother/great grandmother/great, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her selfless nature and unwavering love leave a lasting impression in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed, with her beautiful smile, quick wit, and sassiness always in our minds and hearts.
