畢志忠先生生平

畢志忠先生，原籍廣東省花縣，於1931年7月12日出生於越南西貢。他的父母畢發先生與王親女士共育有七名子女，而他身為長子，自幼便肩負起家庭重擔。父親早逝，使他不得不在年幼時便擔起照顧家人的責任，既是兄長亦是父親的角色。雖然只受過小學教育，他卻憑藉勤奮與堅毅，在文具店工作累積經驗，後來成功創業，經營文具店及電單車零件生意。

1959年，畢先生與馮玉葵女士結為夫婦，育有四子二女。越戰後，共產政權上台，期間經歷資產被沒收與逃難，家園與生意一度盡失。但憑堅忍不屈的精神與親友支持下，他帶領家人挺過艱難歲月。1990年，畢先生與家人移民美國，定居聖地牙哥，自此安居樂業。搬到美國後，他不再從事工作，而是專心陪伴孫輩，他擁有九位孫子女，家庭生活溫馨而充實。此外，畢先生熱心服務社區，曾擔任聖地牙哥東南亞華人耆英會理事，積極參與僑界事務，關懷鄉里。畢先生喜愛園藝，熱衷太極、運動與旅行。

畢先生早年信奉佛教，然而，多年來信主的兒女和親友不斷向他傳福音和禱告, 他逐漸對基督教產生興趣。2023年，他因新冠肺炎住院，病中經歷上帝的保守與醫治，親眼見證媳婦與兒子因信仰而生命轉變，內心深受感動。在林兆源牧師多次探訪與講解救恩真理後，他最終決志信主，於2023年6月14日，在愛加勉華人宣道會受洗歸主。

畢志忠先生為人正直，重情重義，樂於結交朋友，勤奮不懈，堅韌耐勞，深受弟妹敬愛，親友摯愛。在子女心中，他是位嚴厲而慈愛的父親，一生為家庭默默付出，從無怨言。

近月來，畢先生因吞嚥困難導致吸入性肺炎，屢次進出醫院，身體日漸衰弱。最終於2025年4月10日早上安息主懷，享年93歲。

Eulogy of So Tat

Mr. So Tat was originally from Hua County, Guangdong Province, and was born on July 12, 1931, in Saigon, Vietnam. His parents, Mr. Phat Tat and Ms. Than Vuong, had seven children. As the eldest son, he bore heavy responsibilities from a young age. His father passed away early in his life, forcing him to take on the responsibility of supporting the family, fulfilling both the roles of an older brother and a father. Although he only received a primary school education, through diligence and perseverance, he accumulated valuable experience while working at a stationery store. Later, he successfully started his own business, running a stationery store and a motorcycle parts business.

In 1959, Mr. So Tat married Ms. Muoi Dang, and together they had four sons and two daughters. After the Vietnam War, when the Communist Party came to power, the family experienced asset confiscation and displacement, losing their home and business. However, with resilience and support from relatives and friends, he led his family through those difficult years.

In 1990, he immigrated to the United States with his family, settling in San Diego. After moving to the U.S., he no longer pursued work but devoted himself to accompanying his grandchildren, enjoying family life. He had nine grandchildren and lived a warm and fulfilling life. Additionally, he was actively involved in the Chinese community, serving as a board member of the Southeast Asian Chinese Senior Association in San Diego and enthusiastically contributing to his community. Mr. So Tat loves making new friends. He enjoys gardening, practicing Tai Chi, physical exercise, and traveling.

Mr. So Tat was originally a Buddhist. However, over the years, his children and relatives, who had embraced Christianity, persistently shared the gospel with him and prayed for him. In 2023, he contracted COVID-19 and, during his illness, experienced what he believed to be God’s protection and healing. Witnessing the life transformation in his daughter-in-law and son through their faith deeply moved him. After multiple visits and explanations of salvation from Pastor Jonathan Lam, he ultimately decided to accept Christianity and was baptized on June 14, 2023, at the Agape Chinese Alliance Church.

Mr. So Tat was known for his integrity, loyalty, perseverance and hardworking nature. He was highly respected by his siblings and deeply loved by his relatives and friends. To his children, he was a strict yet loving father who devoted his entire life to his family without complaints.

In recent months, he suffered from swallowing difficulties, which led to aspiration pneumonia and repeated hospital visits. As his health gradually weakened, Mr. So Tat peacefully passed away in the morning of April 10, at the age of 93, resting in the Lord.
