Sandra L. Savary

Sandra L. Savary, age 78, of El Cajon, California passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Sandra was born July 29, 1944 in San Diego, California. She is survived by her daughter Robbin, son Jeffrey, two grandchildren, four nephews, three nieces, and son-in-law Frank.

A graduate of Crawford High School, where she met her childhood sweetheart and best friend; Kenneth and began her path to become a Registered Nurse. While in high school she began volunteering at Mercy Hospital and received many accolades, being crowned the “Candy Striper Queen” in 1961 for 500 hours of service. She went on to graduate in 1965 from Mercy College of Nursing. Her career began as an operating room Nurse at Mercy Hospital where she remained for 10 years before moving on to work for a private medical office. She continued her education, received her Nurse Practitioners degree and remained working in private medical clinic settings until retiring in 2008 from Kaiser Permanente.

Other interests included car rallies, classic automobiles, hockey, baking, family and volunteering. Baja California, Mexico was her second home where all family vacations were spent. In Ensenada, Mexico she has many beloved friends, whom she considered her family, including nine godchildren. She will be greatly missed by each and every one of the people whose lives she touched.

A visitation for Sandra will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at El Camino Memorial Chapel, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 3:00 PM at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.
