Ronald William Sabo

Ronald William Sabo of Lompoc, CA, age 77, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 in San Diego, CA. “Ron” was born October 13, 1944 in Pottsville, PA. Ron Sabo passed away in his sleep at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego, CA, after an extensive respiratory illness.

Ron Sabo was preceded in passing by Mary Jane Zane, his wife of 27 years. Ron and Mary Jane met in Ventura, CA, while they both lived in Ventura Harbor. Ron and Mary Jane subsequently lived together in Cambria, CA and Lompoc, CA. Ron and Mary Jane moved to Lompoc in 1991 and Ron was a 31 year resident of the city.

Ron Sabo is survived by his son, Richard Sabo and daughter-in-law, Laura Sabo of La Mesa, CA, and his stepchildren Helen Warren of Nashville, TN, Laura Zane of Eugene, OR, Linda Davis of Eugene, OR, Leslie Perkins of Carmel, CA, and Harold Zane of Oxnard, CA.

Ron Sabo spent most of his youth living in Miami, FL. Ron attended Miami Edison High School. Following that Ron went to the University of Miami where he excelled as a member of their nationally recognized debate team. From the University of Miami, Ron Sabo received a Bachelor of Business Administration cum lade in 1966, and his Juris Doctor cum lade in 1969. Following that, Ron had a distinguished legal career working for the Florida Attorney General’s Office, the Rand Corporation and the Ventura County Attorney General’s Office, before finally opening up a private practice in San Luis Obispo, CA and Lompoc, CA.

During his 31-year span as a resident of Lompoc, Ron attended Foursquare Church and volunteered for the Kiwanis Club of Lompoc. Ron’s favorite pastimes included cooking, walking at Migeulito Park, catching up with friends and watching his beloved University of Miami Hurricanes Football Team.

A memorial of Ron Sabo’s life will be held at a future date for his family in Monterey County, CA. In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family ask that memorial donations in his honor be made to The Santa Barbara Foundation (https://www.sbfoundation.org/).
